Beckon by Anna Weisling & Anna Xambó @ NIME 2018
Beckon. NIME 2018. Moss Arts Center: Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, Blacksburg, VA (USA). June 4, 2018.
Program notes
Beckon is a call to immersion. The listener is prompted to sit in the moments of tension created by droning spaces and rhythmic motions, feeling the physical pull of these dichotomies. The viewer is presented with live imagery which illustrates these sonic spaces, reinforcing both the calm and the distress that comes with sensory immersion. The audio and visual engines engage in bi-directional communication at all times, prompting each other do develop both independently and together.
